Duron (morgan) modification....
In a recent post I asked what bridges to connect to overclock my Duron. I was told the 4 on L7. Well it looks like there are 5 which visually look connected already. can I gewt some clarification.

Your Morgan chip has five L7 bridges and a default voltage of 1.75v, so the middle bridge is open. The rest is already closed (connected). The bridge is laser cut in the middle, so it can be hard to...

So then I just connect the remaining open one resulting in all 5 bridges closed to get 1.85v?

Oken....On a recent post of yours in another thread you told me to use the diagram that is on the other website...You said that it will be the same as my cpu...It shows L11 being the one to switch for...

Hello maciamOops, sorry, my mistake. The L7 bridge has changed name to L11 on Athlon XP and duron Morgan. So yes, we are talking about the L11. The only thing you have to do is connect the middle...

I figured it out....It was easier to draw the line than I expected. I am bottlenecked by my ram, so the only thing it did for me was raise the voltage. i can't set the fsb any higher so it deemed...

Yes, raising the Vcore will make the CPU run hotter.Good thing you didn't fry your cpu with that fan stunt

So give me the rundown on what it will actually do for me. At this point it seemed to do nothing. I can't raise my fsb abouve 107/107 due to my pc133 ram. If I get DDR will it let me raise it? I am...
View ArticleRe: Duron (morgan) modification....
The reason to raise the Vcore is to be able to overclock the core more. But there is no guarantee it will help. Some times your get a CPU that will not OC much with or without more Vcore. Other...

I am using 2 sticks of 128mb....... :-(Will the Duron run at 133? I have it running at 107 stable. The CPU runs at 1176mhz
View ArticleRe: Duron (morgan) modification....
Some people have problems using 2x pc133 on this board, but others do not. But to be sure, take out one of them while trying to OC.The Duron's FSB is fully capable of running 133MHz and higher, if the...

I added a stick of 256 DDR 2100....Should I be able to run the duron at 133? I have done the chipset mod and actually bought another cpu fan and used the old one for my chipset heatsink, which I also...

The highest fsb I seem to get before it freezes is 110/110 which is the same as before, but i get better performance from the ddr. With that setting my 1.1 Duron is running at 1209. When I set it to...

I read that the Durom is rated at 200fsb meaning that it handles 100fsb itsself? Is that what it means?
View ArticleRe: Duron (morgan) modification....
Your CPU core is limiting factor in this situation. You have a chip that will not OC more than about 9%. Changing the memory will not help, as long as it is the CPU core that will not go higher.About...

That sounds about right.....I read the posts about disconnecting the bridges nad think I will just keep it where it is at for now. I am near 8000 in 3dmarks so I am not gonna sweat it. I do have an...
